In a town famous for producing top-tier winter athletes, a quiet revolution is unfolding—not on the slopes, but behind four walls. For the past few years, Sim.Sports has been redefining how ski training is done. Here, athletes of all ages can master the fundamentals of carving at a fraction of the cost of traditional private lessons. And it all began with a simple question from a few curious ski parents.
It was at a youth ski race where a group of local Park City families first noticed something strange: a few athletes from Sun Valley, Idaho were skiing at a level well beyond their age group. Naturally, the question came up – what’s their secret?
When they approached the Sun Valley parents, the answer was surprisingly simple: indoor ski simulator training. Their ski club had invested in a SkyTechSport ski simulator, and the kids were using it regularly for supplemental training. The extra turns they got in (on simulated slalom and GS courses) were giving them a major edge.
Inspired and determined to provide the same opportunity to their own kids and community, the Park City families took action. They banded together and launched Sim.Sports, equipped with two SkyTechSport Ski Simulators, creating a year-round training center built by the community, for the community.
Every great training program needs a head coach with vision – and for Sim.Sports, that coach is Parker.
In 2022, he relocated to Park City to pursue his passion for ski racing. Ironically, Sim.Sports was opened the same month he moved there, and he was their very first client. Having trained extensively on the simulators while living in Los Angeles and working closely with the SkyTechSport team at their U.S. headquarters, Parker knew exactly what this technology could bring to the local ski community. It wasn’t long before Parker joined the operation – now serving as manager, head coach and the talk of the town.
For the past three years, he has taught thousands of sessions on the simulators, helping skiers of all ages improve their technique and confidence off the snow. From U8, to FIS, to Masters, his coaching ability has converted to mind-blowing results on the race course. He says, “…it’s the unexpected podiums, top 10 finishes and newly found motivation that excite me the most.” His coaching style significantly reduces the amount of time it takes his athletes’ to learn new concepts -– it’s all based on feel.
Sim.Sports’ reputation has spread like wildfire, thanks in large part due to Parker’s deep technical knowledge, approachable coaching style and unique ability to make skiing more fun and understandable for everyone.
Sim.Sports isn’t just a training center—it’s a community hub.
More than anything, Sim.Sports is about access. Access to world-class training. Access to consistent practice. Access to skiing for people who might not have grown up on the hill every weekend.
Thanks to the passion of local families, the leadership of Parker and the cutting-edge technology of SkyTechSport, Sim.Sports is building a stronger, more inclusive ski culture in Park City. It’s no longer a question of waiting for the snow or affording a trip to the mountain.
This is where the next generation of skiers are sharpening their turns and pushing their potential. Where parents and kids are learning side by side. Where the community comes together to celebrate the sport they love, twelve months a year.
